Antonio Nardi, born in Perugia 1907. He demonstrated from adolescence an artistic tendency, which was immediately stimulated by his parents. He studied painting and sculpture at the Art Academy in Florence. Being of a rebellious spirit after the diploma, he traveled extensively throughout Europe and during his stays in Paris he met the most important artists of the time. Attracted by the beauties of nature and particularly by the italian landscape, he applied himself with seriousness to the recapturing of the most varied subjects, but always from the true, direct contact with nature, which he maintains is his only irreplaceable Master. After a period in Rome where he held various successful exhibitions, he went for a personal exhibition in the island of Capri. Once there, he fell in love with the beautiful and unique atmosphere of the island and opened his studio in Marina di Capri. Here he studied with particular love and attention all the plays of light and transparencies of the beautiful italian seascapes and it was actually on this fascinating subject that he directed all of his attention. He is most appreciated and sought after for his paintings depicting the Amalfitan coast and the special atmosphere of Capri seascapes. He elected this island as his new home and never left since his first visit. He is known for his sensibility in capturing on his works the action of the waves and the moving sunset at sea.
